my work as a solo percussion artist and curator is fuelled by a desire to synthesize diverse concepts, genres, and art forms— creating inclusive programs, concert experiences, and events.
influenced by medieval chant as much as pop culture (and everything in between) i strive to expose new audiences to “classical music”.
i acknowledge and respect tradition, frequently performing works by classical and contemporary masters; simultaneously, i attempt to create a new, more personal syntax for my artistic practice through improvisation and collaboration.
as a curator, space and location are of the utmost importance. ordinary public spaces— from parks to parking garages, courtyards to backyards, bridges, and vacant lots— are as appealing to me as concert halls.
